“Adolescent Angst” is in the Publishing Stage!

I’m so happy to report that “Adolescent Angst” is in the publishing stage! I’m currently finalizing the details with the publishers and I will provide links once the different editions are live. In the meantime, here is a description of the book and the cover:

Ever wonder what the mind of a teenager is like…especially a rebellious, troubled teenager? The poetry in this book, which I wrote in my teen years, honestly shares my thoughts and feelings when I was a teen struggling to live with my parents’ strict rules. Poetry was my “therapy” at the time.

If you are a teenager and wish to connect with someone who is going through the same tough times that you are, this is the book for you. Poems such as: The Chamber, Expression, Authority, and My “Other” Side, reveal my inner-workings as an independence-driven, identity-seeking adolescent.

This book contains twenty-two free-verse poems, written when I was a teen, and a Foreword, Afterword, and About the Poet, written by myself twenty years later.

Get a glimpse into the mind and emotions of a distressed teenager. Learn what it’s like to have overprotective parents and emotional turmoil, and be able to connect with someone who does. Whether you are a parent with a struggling teen, or you are that struggling teen, this book will help you get through your challenges.

Book Review of “We the Consumers”

We the Consumers book“We the Consumers: What Happened to ‘We the People’?,” by Stephanie Dickert, is such an interesting book about the past and present economy in regards to personal finance. The author talks on a broad scale about the government and country in regards to the economy, as well as on a personal level about the average person’s finances and how they are typically managed.

The bulk of the book is about money and budgeting, and the purpose seems to be to help the average person – middle or lower class – budget, save, and spend their money wisely. The author shows you how you can save a million dollars in your lifetime, all while donating to good causes! Therefore, the book is also about using your money in good and beneficial ways, which also includes saving for the future.

You will not regret buying this book. It is concise, helpful, and innovative. Also, being a book on finances, it is not dry at all! The author’s voice is so lighthearted, optimistic, and easy to understand that the reading is enjoyable. Get this book today if you want to change your financial future!

You can get a copy of Ms. Dickert’s book at Amazon in paperback and ebook. Happy reading!

“Freedom from Fat: Part 1”

Yes, there is now a “Part 1” in the title. This is because I decided to make “Freedom from Fat” into two parts: my weight loss journey and my maintenance journey.

I have finished the first draft of Part 1! It is about my journey of losing 100 pounds. It is a compilation of journal entries (from my FatSecret account) and blog posts (from my health blog), which were already edited when I originally wrote them, so a quick proofread is all that will be needed. The book is approximately 51,000 words. I’m excited about publishing it, which, because of my busy schedule with my freelance publishing services career, will be in 2015.

Part 1 ends in the beginning of 2014. Part 2, I’ve just begun. I’ve written approximately 7,000 words towards it. I don’t have an idea of how much time in my life the book will span, but I’m still including what is currently going on in my life in the book. I’m guessing it will include about two years of my journey, so 2016 is the anticipated year that I’ll be finished with the first draft. So you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy Part 1 before Part 2 comes out!

I hope these books will help and inspire others to lose their excess weight and become healthier, and keep the weight off, which is the reason for the book about maintenance, because, essentially, that is the most important part. Anyone can lose weight, but most people struggle with keeping it off. Also, reaching a goal weight is hard too, which the weight loss book will help with.

I hope you will enjoy my two books when they come out. I have other books in the works, some that are farther along than “Freedom from Fat: Part 1,” so you may get to enjoy some more books before that one 🙂

I hope you’re enjoying your journey, whatever it may be!

Interview with Justyn Simon

Justyn SimonChristine: When you’re not writing, how do you spend your time?

Justyn: Surviving high school, working on becoming an eagle scout, reading, making art, reviewing, blogging, social media, and walking my dog.

Christine: What is your writing process like?

Justyn: Research, outline, rough draft, polish, add more stuff, add story to a document, check for errors, add more, convert file to the type I need, check for more errors, publish, check for conversion errors and fix any as needed. This is how I’ve decided to do this, as this is somewhat easier than the path I took while writing my first book.

Christine: What do you write about?

Justyn: I enjoy writing about adventure. Right now I’m working on my second book: Rufus in Teralupis. It’s in my first series, Brindle stories, which is an animal fantasy genre series.

Christine: What sort of mythical creature would you be?

Justyn: I would be a griffin, as they stand for bravery, are not able to breathe fire, and are a “mash up” of two real animals. They are the same as dragons.

Christine: What are some of the social media sites you are on?

Justyn: All of the social media sites I’m on can be found here.

Christine: Anything else you would like to share?

Justyn: Yes, I would. Other than writing, I also enjoy drawing animals, mostly dogs.

Christine: Thanks for interviewing on my blog!

New News!

It’s been a long time since my last post and that’s because I’ve been working hard on my books. After publishing Articles for the Mind, and republishing my four other books, I became very busy with letting the world know about them – through interviews, book listings on websites, social media, book reviewers, and probably more!

I also resumed editing Chronicles of a Troubled Girl, and started a book of my teenage poetry called Adolescent Angst:

Adolescent Angst by Christine RiceIn addition, I designed a book cover for Freedom from Fat:

Freedom from Fat by Christine Rice

Lastly, I started a newsletter. If you would like to read the first issue, here is the link. If you would like to sign up for the newsletter, which is an occasional email about really exciting news and book discounts, fill out the form in the top-right side of my website here.

I’m really excited about my future publishing projects, and I’m really happy to be sharing the news with you!

New book published – Articles for the Mind

I have good news this week too. I compiled a book of all of the articles I have written and published it. It is called Articles for the Mind. It consists of 58 short articles that are informative and sometimes advising, on the subjects of beauty, health, careers, education, family, pets, financial planning, frugal living, money, food, holidays, home, psychology, self-help, values, and writing. The book is grouped into chapters with those subjects as the chapter titles, so the book is easy to navigate and easy to find what you need. There is also a foreword, an afterword, and an about the author page. The cover is below:

Articles for the Mind

It is published on Amazon (Kindle) and Smashwords. Eventually it will be available at Barnes & Noble (Nook), iBookstore, Sony, and Kobo. It will also eventually be published in print and available as a paperback at Amazon. I’m really happy that all of the valuable information in this book is available to the public. I hope the advice and information helps people.

Thank you for your support. It is because of you that I enjoy publishing books.

Publishing Accomplishments

I titled this post “Publishing Accomplishments,” not because I want to share mine, but because I want to help you with yours. Are you a writer? Do you dream of getting your book published? If so, my freelance business, “Christine Rice Publishing Services,” can help you get published, whether your goals are to be traditionally published or self-published. The services I offer will help you during every step of the publishing process. If your goal is to get your book out to the world through the self-publishing medium, I can help you by editing and proofreading your book, formatting your book for print or digital publishing, and designing your book cover. Or, if you’re dying to get a publishing contract with a traditional publisher, I will edit your manuscript so that it will be in tip-top shape; write you a stunning query letter, synopsis, and/or book proposal; and format your manuscript how agents want them (I will even tailor the materials for the agents you wish to submit to since their submission guidelines vary – but you don’t need to worry about that, because I’ll do it all for you!).

Visit Christine Rice Publishing Services to view my resume, review my portfolio, learn what services I offer, and read my client testimonials. You will see that I am the best answer for all your publishing needs. Leave me a message on the “contact me” form on my website and I’ll get back to you right away.

Looking forward to helping you accomplish your publishing goals!
